Geneo

Geneo was created during the subject App-Design at the SfGZ. I was completely free in my choice of topic, so I decided to focus on a very relevant and ethically tricky issue: How far can one go in genetic engineering? Where are the limits? My work shows a scenario in which parents can modify their child in an app and then order the modified genetic material, for example Gender, eye colour and IQ. You can choose between the parents' genetic material or add foreign material. Regarding the design, I decided against a character customizer as known from video games, and took a somewhat abstract approach: Adjustments to the child's genetic makeup are based on a simplified 3D visualization of the DNA strand, which gains color with each change. The genetic material of the mother is red, that of the father blue and foreign genetic material yellow. If an attribute is not modified and left to chance, it remains white.
